Post-Doc
Full-Time • Geras Centre for Aging Research
Description

A post-doctoral fellow at the Geras Centre for Aging Research will 1) conduct high level independent research in the area of partnership development, KT, implementation science, evidence-based practice and higher education in rehabilitation, 2) will work independently within a large research team and 3) oversee the daily activities of the centre and work with junior trainees (MSc and PhD students). To apply to the Geras Post-Doctoral Fellow position, please submit to Dr. Alexandra Papaioannou (papaioannou@hhsc.ca):

Job Requirements
  • PhD in Health Research Methodology, Rehabilitation Sciences, Kinesiology, Nursing, Public Health or related field
  • Experience in the field of aging or clinical research
  • Experience with data analysis software such as SPSS or SAS
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in mentorship and/or project management 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly motivated and self-driven individual
Preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines
  • Experience coordinating multi-site randomized control trials 
  • Experience in frailty intervention development and evaluation
PhD student

Description

The PhD program in Health Research Methodology aims to equip students with advanced methodological skills to engage in independent scholarly work and contribute to the creation of new knowledge relevant to improving Canadian health. The program achieves its objectives through coursework, comprehensive examination, collaboration with faculty, and independent research leading to a thesis focused on developing new methods or applying existing ones in a unique way.

Master’s student

Description

The MSc program in Health Research Methodology aims to develop critical and scholarly skills in applied clinical and health systems research, focusing on research synthesis, design, data gathering, analysis, interpretation, and communication. The program offers both thesis-based and course-based options and is open to individuals from diverse professional backgrounds and disciplines.

Co-op student

Description

A research co-op student plays an important role in assisting and supporting ongoing research projects under the guidance of experienced researchers. They are responsible for conducting literature reviews, data collection and analysis, as well as contributing to the development of research proposals and manuscripts.
